Must be doin something right!

LVC put out a CD of the girls singing some of our more common worship songs. I thoroughly enjoy it, as I used to sing with them, and really miss it. Singing for the Lord is another favorite ministry of mine. I am constantly belting out whatever song comes to mind, and I can come up with a song that relates to almost every sermon! This season of my life has made it difficult to spend the extra time necessary to do music ministry at church, and although I do love it, I need to focus on my family a lot right now.

Anyways...

Listening to a song from the CD, it ended, and got quiet (BC the CD was changing songs) and again, from the mouth of babes... I hear "Let us bow our heads and pray. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for all the people in this world. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen."

I found it funny, and couldn't stop laughing. But also this moment reminded me that even though I get frustrated with the kids... We must be doing something right, that she knows to pray! :) It reminds me that her Christian behavior is more important than any worldly behavior I try to get her to conform to! Miss Ann!!! Love that girl!!!

ID 10 T

I usually drive. Everywhere. I am a fan of being in control, and I don't like feeling car sick, while others drive. Since we have had our 4th baby, I've found that while Scott drives, I can accomplish more, sometimes I pump, put my makeup on, do my hair, or just sit there, doing nothing, calling it my down time. Anyways, when we first started this change, Scott drove home from church. We had decided (between the 2 of us) to get McDonald's on the way home. So rather turn left on route 8, we decide to turn right. In the back of the car, I hear IDIOT! (with attitude of course) I turnned the music down, and said WHAT?!?! Miss Ann said, my dad is in idiot because he doesn't even know the way home! Again, rolling in laughter!!

Literal

I thought of another one, as I am trying to catch up on past events making loved ones laugh...

So I set the kids up in the morning with their breakfast, and while they are eating, I usually jump in the shower. So, one particular morning, I told the kids to stay at the table and eat, while momma jumps in the shower. So I get in, do my thing, and get out. While brushing my teeth, I hear ry guy's sweet little (innocent) voice say... "MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Are you done jumping in the shower?!?!" I laughed and laughed, as I piture in his mind me jumping up and down in the bath tub, whit the shower running!

Sleeping in the car

Let's be honest... when the kids fall asleep in the car, we usually drive around enjoying the peace and quiet! One evening, over the summer, we were driving around, doing just that... Letting the kids get some sleep, while we enjoyed some peace and quiet. Anyways, we were bored, and decided to stop at a friend's house (4 houses up from ours). Since it was a nice summer's night, we rolled the windows down, and went into their house. We visited for a few minutes, and went back out to the car to head home. When we got back out to the car, we saw miss Ann upside down in her seat. Literally, her head was where her feet go, and her feet were where her head goes! It was hilarious!

Crickets

For those of you who know Miss Ann, you know that she is very independent. She enjoys helping out, and given big girl tasks. We stopped at the pet store to pick up crickets for Daddy's fire bellied toads. (I told him he could only have them if i didn't have to do anything to care for them... see how that worked out)! Anyways, Miss Ann asked so nice if she could hold them for the ride home. Of course I'd let my (at the time) 3 year old carry them home! Crickets are sent home in a plastic bag, filled with air, similar to that of a goldfish. All of a sudden, I heard a pop! I turned around, grabbed the bag from her in an instant. She had squeezed the bag so hard the rubber band went flying in my van. Fortunately, i go the bag before i had 2 dozen large crickets loose in my van. That was a close one!

Cinnamon

I woke up one morning to the sweet (spice) smell of cinnamon. It smelled great! Through the moments of sleep and awake, it took me a few extra minutes to realize "it should't smell like cinnamon in here!" I jump up out of bed, run into the kitchen where there is a thick coating of powdered cinnamon all over my kitchen floor, and an empty bottle sitting on the stove! Ry-Guy had dumped the entire bottle all over my kitchen! It was difficult to clan up, but atleast it smelled good!

Potty Training

So my son, who is over 3 years old, is not interested in using the potty. We have attempted with the fun underwear, candy for toileting, stickers on a potty chart, etc. He just isn't interested! So everytime we do a diaper change, we talk to Ry Guy about peeing on the potty. We ask him why, and his responce is that he is afraid to fall in! I reassure him that he will be ok, and can sit on a potty seat, which makes the hole smaller, and less intimidating for little butts! Anyways, the other day, I hear from down the hall... "MOOOOOMMMMmmmm, Ry Guy Peed on the potty!!!!" I was so excited, I jumped up, and ran to the bathroom, Only to find the lid closed, and pee all over the lid, and floor. How do you argue that one?! I guess he thought it was peeing on the potty, and still remaining safe from falling in! I gave praise for it anyway!
